Today, the word ‘busy’ has become more mainstream than ever before. You might not have time to keep an eye on your lawn, and when you decide to do so, you spray weed and feed; suddenly, you have brown spots! Sometimes you’ll see that all the green is gone, so you fertilize the whole yard: but no grass is growing yet. That right there is a sign; this means that what you thought was grass was just weed, and you had a lot more weed than you realized!
As far as re-seeding the yard, the DFW weather leaves you with, at best, a 50-50 chance of success, and that’s if you get everything right. With that being said, you are left with one solution only: sod installation.
While even sod installation doesn’t mean that you can forget about lawn care and maintenance, it is certainly the easiest way to obtain a new, healthy, green lawn. Weeds happen, and are known to be more active at certain times of the year, but lack of care can be your killer mistake. So, what you need to do is to make sure you know what grass you have, when to apply weed control, and when to fertilize the yard.
The thing is, even if you do everything right weeds can still get the best out of your yard, leaving you with a lot of brown spots. When the grass won’t grow, or won’t turn green again, just be aware that in some cases, sod installation is going to be your friend. It won’t solve all life’s problems, but at least you will have green grass again!
